Day 3
Camp Kyari Syat
Reach Kathgodam in the morning transfer in jeeps to Corbett (Camp KyariSyat) (1 1/2 hrs)
Arrive at Camp Kyari Syat for Breakfast.
Tent allotment and sharing the days plan.
A short morning hike through open farmland, light forest and the village. Birds eye view from
the hillside, Watch the vast Corbett landscape plains spread out below.
Plan for the out camping menu. Students to plan and execute the menu for one meal, manage
logistics, including tents, rations, cooking and serving utensils.
Post Lunch.
- Designing grass and clay pot nests for birds (sparrows, Mynas). To be distributed by
students in the village - for avian friendly homes.
- Making hammocks using cotton ropes, learn special knots.
Hike to the Bohr river stream. The students spend a few hours splashing around in the small
clean river stream, navigating over boulders and exploring the surrounding forest. Great
location for spotting butterflies and birds.
Pitch tents by the canal, cook dinner on a small open fire. |

Day 4
Sattal Campsite
Wildlife and the village.
Short drive to the Sitabani forest.
This patch of deep forest has particularly dense vegetation with the Khichdi river stream
flowing through and the Sitabani Ashram near the natural spring. Rich bio-diversity. Here the
children can track wildlife and make POP costs of pugmarks, search for river crabs under
boulders (catch and release) and identify Exotic birds with local expert birders.
Day picnic along the river.
Jim Corbett heritage trail.
Late breakfast and pack
Drive from camp to Choti Haldwani (Jim Corbetts village) - 15 kms.
Take a guided tour (7 kms on foot) till Lunch.
JC connection: This is where he stayed for most of his India stint. We visit the Corbett museum,
his winter home. See the village chaupal he commissioned, the safety wall around the village as
a deterrent against elephants and other wildlife, his gun used for most shootings and other
Memorabilia associated with his life.
We can drive to the Corbett waterfall and go for a swim in crystal clear waters. This is the trail
Jim Corbett used to frequent in the evenings with his ranger friends.
Continue drive to Saat-tal camp.
Reach Sattal camp. Settle down in tents.

Day 5
Sattal Campsite
Freshen up followed by breakfast.
Post breakfast safety briefing and sharing of the plan.
Adventure and nature
Hike through surya gaon village to the Saat-tal lakes.
The students spend an exciting day in the forested valley and can choose any of the adventure
action happening around:
Kayaking in the lakes.
Rock climbing and rappelling on a rock face in the forest.
Picnic Lunch in a lakeside garden.
Walking to the Garuda tal lake for a swim (with life jackets)
Following a trail in the forest to a waterfall for a splash.
Evening: Hike back up to the hilltop camp.
Relaxed evening around the campfire.

Day 6
Sattal Campsite
Walk to a patch of forest for a Team game:
Rope bridge making / Tyrolene traverse.
Students learn to build a rope bridge using various rope knots, basic equipment like harnesses
and carabiners etc, and use it to get their team across a small valley.
Lunch at the campsite
Continue adventure action from day 1.
Evening: Return to the camp.
Singing, music and games around campfire.
Post dinner, Night hike through the forest, reaching a grass land or a patch of forest frequented by Wildlife.

Sattal Campsite
Pack up and breakfast.
Walk down to the lakes.
Drive to Nainital.
Explore the old hill town on foot.
Visit the Nainital zoo or ride the cable car to the snow view point.
Lunch at the mall.
Shopping and site seeing.
Evening: Return to Saat-tal camp.
Post dinner games around the campfire. |

Day 8
Depart from Camp
Breakfast at the camp.
Hike through the forest to Jantwal dhura (highest hill above the valley)
Walk down the valley down to the lake.
Swimming at the garuda tal lake.
All teams to cook a picnic Lunch by the lake.
Choose your favourite activity.
Kayaking Chaos: A fun team game with all participants together using Kayaks in the main lake.
Evening tea and drive down to Kathgodam to board overnight train to Delhi.
